Every teacher sets her own rate. That rate is what you are charged and it is what she earns — Mansana adds nothing to it and takes nothing out of it. You sign in with a Google account, see her price on the slot before you take it, pay by card for that one class, and you book the hour yourself; nobody has to contact you to arrange it.
How it works
Three steps, and you do all three.
Nobody is going to contact you to arrange this. You sign in, you take the hour you want, and you pay for that one class by card — at whatever time of night you happen to be reading this. No form to fill in, no waitlist, no call, nothing to agree with a human first. We find and vet the teachers; the rest of it is yours to drive.
Sign in and open the calendar
Sign in with a Google account — that is the only sign-in, so bring one. Then look at the calendar: every teacher with an hour free is on it, and the price of that exact class is printed next to her name. There is nothing to buy before that — no pack to choose, no balance to top up, no plan that starts today and bills you again next month.
Take the hour, pay for that class
Teachers post their real weekly schedules — two weeks out, half hour by half hour. Everyone free at that hour is on the grid with photo, first name, city, and what that class costs in dollars. Pick a slot: the hour is held for fifteen minutes while you pay by card, and it is booked the moment the payment lands. One class, one price — hers, whatever she has set — and you see the exact amount before you go to checkout. Nobody is assigned to you. Tell them in the first class what you're learning for — work, family, residency paperwork, or just following the table at an asado — and that hour doubles as your level check. Don't click with them? Book someone else next week.
You speak in week one
Live classes over video, one to one or in a small group, scheduled around you. An email lands an hour before and again ten minutes before, carrying the link you click — there is nothing to install. Talking from the first hour, not chapter one of a textbook. In-person classes in Buenos Aires and Córdoba come later.
Levels
Start at zero. Start at 60. Both are normal.
There's no entry requirement and no age at which this stops working. Your first class puts you on the ladder; the rest move you up it.
Why here
The Spanish you need is the one outside your door.
Rioplatense Spanish isn't an accent you add later — it's a different set of verbs, sounds and words. Learning it anywhere else means unlearning it here.
Voseo
A whole second person you were never taught, with its own conjugation and its own imperative. Every teacher here speaks it natively, because they've never spoken anything else.
The sh sound
Ll and y come out as sh. The fastest way to stop sounding like a textbook — and the reason podcasts from Madrid don't prepare your ear for a taxi in Palermo.
Lunfardo
The street vocabulary that never makes it into courses. You don't need all of it, but you need enough to know when you're being teased.
Rhythm
Argentines speak with an Italian cadence — the melody is half the meaning. You learn that by talking to one every week, not by drilling flashcards.
Pricing
Her price. That is the price.
One class, one price, paid by card at the moment you book it. No subscription, no packs, no credits, no wallet and nothing to cancel later. Every teacher sets her own hourly rate, that rate is what you are charged, and she keeps all of it — Mansana adds nothing on top and takes no commission out. There is no platform rate sitting under hers, which is why this page cannot quote you one: you read the number off her slot in the calendar. A seat in a group class is priced by the teacher too.
Half the hour, half the price. For the weeks you only have thirty minutes.
The full hour, just you and her. Whatever she charges is what you pay, and all of it is hers.
Her own discount for teaching several at once — unless she prices the seat herself. Same hour, same teacher, two to four students.
Where the money goes.
All of it goes to the teacher. She sets an hourly rate, you are charged that rate, and she is paid that rate — one number doing all three jobs. Mansana's cut is 0%: nothing taken off her side, nothing added to yours, and no platform rate underneath hers. Whatever she has set:
- An hour, one to one — her hourly rate. Every cent of it is hers.
- Half an hour — half of it. Half the time, half the money, still all hers.
- A seat in a group class — three quarters of her hourly rate, or the seat price she set herself. Every seat that sells is hers as well.
A dearer teacher costs more, and the difference is entirely hers — we earn the same either way, which is nothing. You see the figure on her slot before you take it and again before you go to checkout, and it is the whole bill — nothing bought up front, nothing left over afterwards, nothing charged again next month. A group is capped at four students on purpose: past that, you stop talking and start listening.
If something goes wrong
You are not the one carrying the risk.
Paying a stranger on the internet to turn up on video is a fair thing to be wary of. So the parts that usually go wrong are handled by the platform itself. You don't have to notice them, chase them, or write to anybody.
Teacher doesn't show, you don't pay for it
If your teacher never opens the classroom, you don't file anything and you don't email us. The system checks every class shortly after it was due to end and sees the empty room by itself: she is not paid for a class she never taught, and that class is refunded to you. Every class you paid for, and every peso of it, is logged against your account.
Test your camera before you spend anything
Open the camera and mic test and you'll know in about ten seconds. No account, no booking, no payment, nothing to install: your own video, a bar that moves when you talk, a speaker check, and a real test of whether your connection can carry a class. Find out before you pay, not after.
Nothing running in the background
There is no subscription, no pack and no balance sitting somewhere with your money in it. You are charged once, for the class you are booking, and a week you don't book is a week we take nothing. Nothing to remember to cancel, because nothing was ever set up.
Leave a group class up to two hours before
Changed your mind about a group hour? Leave it yourself, more than two hours before it starts — no reason asked, no penalty — and that seat is refunded. Inside those two hours the seat is yours and it is spent.
Two exceptions, said plainly. A one-to-one class has no self-serve cancel button: if you need to move one, message your teacher in the panel chat as early as you can. And a refund to a card is not instant and not automatic — a person on our side puts it back. What is automatic is that we notice, so you never have to be the one who tells us.

The rate she sets is the rate she is paid
She names her own hourly rate — no floor under it, no ceiling over it, nobody approving the number — and she takes home all of it. We never shave a percentage off a teacher's class and we never add one to yours: what you pay is her rate, and that is the end of the sum.
Comfortable with absolute beginners
Teaching someone with zero Spanish is a specific skill, and not every fluent speaker has it. Every teacher here can run a first class in English and get you talking anyway.
Nobody assigns you anyone
No algorithm picks your teacher, and neither do we. You see who's free, you book who you want, and you can message any of them before you pay for anything. Changed your mind? Book someone else next week — no penalty, no explanation needed.

Questions
Before you book
I speak absolutely no Spanish. Is that a problem?
No — it's the most common place to start. Your teacher speaks English and will use it early on, then less and less. Starting from absolute zero is a normal Tuesday here.
I'm in my fifties. Am I too old for this?
No. Adults learn languages differently from children, not worse — you're better at structure and worse at not caring how you sound. A one-to-one teacher fixes the second part, which is the part that actually blocks people.
Online only?
For now, yes — live video, one to one or in a small group. Online is what keeps teachers' prices where they are, and it means you can book anyone on the roster instead of only the teachers near you. In-person classes in Buenos Aires and Córdoba come later.
How do the group classes work?
Your teacher opens an hour with a set number of seats — say Tuesday at 7pm, four seats, conversation at A2 — and it appears on your panel. Take a seat and you're in; everyone opens the same classroom link at class time. A group runs with two students and never holds more than four, so you always get to talk. The teacher prices the seat: three quarters of what her solo hour costs, unless she has named a seat price herself — and she keeps every seat that sells. Change your mind more than two hours before it starts and that seat is refunded.
Group or one to one?
One to one moves you faster and bends entirely around what you need — it's the right choice if you have a deadline or a specific weak spot. A group costs a quarter less and is better for one thing in particular: getting comfortable speaking when the other person isn't paid to be patient with you. You can do both — you pay per class either way, so you never have to choose in advance.
Will it work on my computer?
Check before you pay: open the camera and mic test. It shows your own video, a level bar that moves when you talk, and tells you whether your network can carry a video class. Nothing is booked and nobody sees you — it takes about ten seconds, and you don't need an account to run it. Use Chrome. In the class itself our server only introduces the two browsers to each other: your video and audio never pass through it.
Can I choose my teacher?
Yes — that's the whole booking screen. You see everyone with hours free, pick one, and confirm. If the fit isn't right — the schedule, the style, the personality — book someone else next week. No penalty and no explanation needed. A teacher you click with beats a teacher on paper.
What do I see about a teacher before I book?
Photo, first name, city, the hours they have free, and exactly what that class costs in dollars — plus how many classes they've taught here, once that passes ten. Personal contact details stay off the platform: they're working teachers, not a lead list. Want more than that before you pay for an hour? Message them first.
Will I learn Spanish, or just Argentine Spanish?
Both — they're the same language. You'll learn standard grammar and be understood anywhere from Mexico to Madrid. What you get on top is the voseo, the sound and the vocabulary of the country you're actually standing in.
How do I pay?
By card, on the site, one class at a time. You pick the slot, we hold that hour for fifteen minutes, you pay for that one class at checkout in US dollars, and it is booked the moment the payment lands. Do I need a Google account?
Yes — worth knowing before you start. Signing in with Google is the only way into the student panel: there is no email-and-password option and no magic link, for students or teachers. If you don't have one you'd need to make one first. We use it to sign you in and to send your booking confirmations and reminders.
What if my teacher doesn't turn up?
You get that class back without asking for it. Every class is checked shortly after it was due to end, and if your teacher never opened the classroom she is not paid for it and the class is refunded to you — no form, no claim, nobody to email. The noticing is automatic; the money going back to your card is a person on our side doing it, usually the same day. If they did turn up and something else went wrong, message them in the panel chat and a person picks it up.
What if I need to cancel?
It depends which kind. A group class you can leave yourself: do it more than two hours before it starts and that seat is refunded. A one-to-one class has no cancel button — message your teacher in the panel chat as early as you can and a person on our side sorts it out. Either way you were only ever charged for that one class, so there is no plan still running behind it.
